You are off to a good start. I did not consider it slow at all. It gave us an insight into the character allowing me to put myself more into the story, kinda like the fly on the wall. Interesting power to have. The possibilities really are endless. I can not wait to see the downside....there is ALWAYS a downside. (7/10)

A good start by a new author. Still a bit rough and crude by my standards and descriptions could use a lot more detail. However, the author has a distinct and clear authorial voice and knows where he is going. There is no need to apologize for a slow start. It is amazing how many readers appreciate the careful setting of a scene. I do expect improvement with further chapters and if this occurs my ratings will adjust upwards. I myself enjoy reading about corporal punishment of Catholic schoolgirls so that is one direction you can develop.
