The style of writing is rather stilted as if English was not the authors native language. It is not a bad opening chapter to a multi-part story, but over four years have elapsed and we are still waiting for the rest.
If we ever get the rest of the story with some more characterization and the feelings/emotions of the young girl then i will be able to up my rating. (7/10)
