Better written than most, not much wrong with the English. Style's a bit too full of short and snappy sentences for my taste. Starts off well, doesn't keep it up. (7/10)

This is very good writing, but that's not the reason for the rating. I've seldom read a story that truly describes humiliation and degradation in such a detailed and powerful way. It has the potential to become a classic provided the author can sustain the very high standards set by these initial chapters. (10/10)
